Within the first 30 seconds of hearing "Every Wall You Own," I wondered if Chris Bathgate was from the Ann Arbor area. (RLY!) 'Lo and behold, he very much is, and that predictability is more my freakish singer-songwriter associations and more with a sound that seems to grow from that area from the midwest. Nevertheless, Bathgate's songs are simple but magnetic, and his voice is simply divine. He's playing in and around the Ann Arbor area for the rest of the summer, with one stint at the Mercury Lounge on July 20th in New York City.
