England's Noisettes are currently on tour, opening up for Bloc Party. Their full-length, What's The Time Mr. Wolf is doing really well. It's dance-y, but still layered with heavy classic rock riffs and loud, soaring vocals a la Joan Jett's heyday. Reminds me of some of the best Zeppelin, Queen and Meatloaf (shut up, I love the 'Loaf) moments, particularly with the single, "Scratch Your Name." Another very hot track is "Sister Rosetta," which plays on rockabilly and swing inflections, while "The Count Of Monte Christo" totally...does not. They've just received a really favorable review from NME which starts off with "Holy mutha!" Should be enough of a sign right there...
